Assessing Rural Multilingualism in Lower Bafut, North West Region of Cameroon

Summary of the research project: It is a fact that both societal and individual multilingualism are normality in Africa. This research will be geared towards answering three main questions: 1) what does it mean to know a language in a rural context? 2) What research methods and methodology should we utilize when assessing oral multilingual competence in a rural setting, 3) to what extent are the Lower Bafut people multilingual?
